Greetings and Announcements
Prelude Flowers by Samantha Ebert
Opening Hymn I Can Only Imagine
Call to Worship (based on Luke 20:27-38)
Ldr: We gather to worship the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—
Ppl: The God of the living, not the dead.
Ldr: For all who belong to God are alive to Him,
Ppl: We are children of the resurrection, children of God.
Ldr: In this life, we marry and are given in marriage,
Ppl: But God has prepared for us a life beyond this age.
Ldr: Death no longer has dominion over those who trust in the Lord,
Ppl: For we serve a God who raises the dead to life.
Ldr: We are counted worthy not by our own merit,
Ppl: But by God’s grace and power.
Ldr: So let us worship the God of the living,
Ppl: Who holds our past, our present, and our future in His eternal hands.
All: To the God who was, and is, and is to come—the God of resurrection and life—be glory and praise forever! Amen.

Mt. Zion Food Cupboard is Nov 15th 9-11 am. The work day is Nov 13th 9-10 am. They have asked if we could donate Canned Fruit-Creamed Corn-Baked Beans-Soups-Dessert Items. These are all items that they are running low on. Please no canned Green Beans, Kernel Corn, or Carrots, they have an abundance. Thank you.
Helping Hands Adopt a Child gift tags are available. All gifts need to be back to Asbury by Nov. 30th please. If you do not want to shop but still would like to help, please see Tammy. We can do the shopping for you.
Clean-pure water is not a luxury, rather it is an absolute necessity to remain healthy. This necessity is an obscure possibility for much of the population of Kenya, Africa. Even the drilling of wells does not guarantee the well water will not be polluted. The Allegheny West Global Methodist Conference is partnering with “Maji” a non-profit with the goal of eradicating the harmful bacterial diseases that jeopardize the health of the people of Kenya. As you know, Kenya Global Methodist Church is our partner in ministry and mission. One of our goals is to build a bridge of communication between every church in our conference with individual churches in Kenya.
The Akron/Canton Circuit has been challenged to meet the need for churches on the Kissee District in Kenya to have safe drinking and cooking water. We can accomplish this goal by providing a ‘Bucket Water Filtration System,’ especially designed for use in the homes of our Kenyan families. The system does not require any chemicals. The system cleans five gallons of water in a little as 20 minutes. Cleaning is as easy as backwashing the filter with filtered water. Remarkably, no replacement filters or cartridges are necessary. The cost of one filtration system is $53.00.
Asbury has been asked to support the Nyangonda Church, which currently has 13 families attending. They are asking that we also send at least 8 additional kits that they may share with families that are not members of their church. By giving pumps to other families in the community the host church will have the opportunity to introduce them to Jesus as Savior. You can exceed the number of pumps assigned to your church. The need is greater!
Please mark your envelope or place donations in the bucket in the back of the sanctuary.
