Prelude                                        He Keeps Me Singing

Opening Hymn*                           Lord I Lift Your Name on High

Lenten Reading: John 3:1-17

Allen Family

Call to Worship                    (based on John 3:1-17)

Ldr:    We come seeking Jesus, even as Nicodemus came by  night.

Ppl:    We come with our questions, our doubts, and our  longing to understand.

Ldr:    Jesus said, “Very truly, I tell you, no one can see the  kingdom of God without being born from above.”

Ppl:    We open our hearts to the Spirit of God, who brings  new birth and new life.

Ldr:    The wind blows where it chooses, and you hear the  sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from  or where it goes.

Ppl:    So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.

Ldr:    Just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so  must the Son of Man be lifted up.

Ppl:    That whoever believes in him may have eternal life.

Ldr     For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son.

Ppl:    So that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.

Ldr:    Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world.

Ppl:    But in order that the world might be saved through  him.

Ldr:   Come, let us worship the God who loves us so much.

All:     Let us worship the One who offers us new birth and  eternal life!
