Prelude                                       Just a Closer Walk With Thee

Call to Worship                    (based on Romans 6:12-23)

Ldr:    “Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness.”

Ppl:    We come to worship the God who has set us free from sin’s dominion. We are no longer slaves to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

Ldr:    “For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace. . . . But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you have come to obey from your heart the pattern of teaching that has now claimed your allegiance. You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.”

Ppl:    By God’s grace, we yield our whole selves—body, mind, and spirit—to righteousness, leading to sanctification and holiness. We present our members as instruments for God’s glory.

Ldr:    “What fruit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Ppl:     We choose life! We reject sin’s wages and receive God’s free gift. Thanks be to God for the transforming power of His grace that enables us to walk in newness of life and pursue entire sanctification—perfect love that casts out sin.

All:      Let us worship the Triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—who delivers us from sin’s slavery, raises us to new life, and calls us to holy living. Glory to God in the highest!

Community Outreach

Mt Zion Food Cupboard has a workday on  Thursday 7-16 from 9-11 am. Food giveaway will be on Saturday 7-19 from 9 to 11 am. Food donations can be put into the entryway closet.

Please continue to bring donations of all kinds to Asbury. Place them inside the hall closet and we will get them to a person or organization that can use them.
